"Being the Church"  in our community!

Come grow with us!

Our mission is to reach out beyond the walls of our church building and embrace our neighbors. Our arms are ALWAYS open to anyone and everyone, regardless of denomination or affiliation, who shares the desire to help meet the needs of our community. Our purpose is to share the love of Jesus Christ through service, assistance, compassion and support.

"Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38
Needs ...

There is a gentleman that occasionally comes to LUMC requesting assistance. He is a long-time local resident. He needs a ride to and from Prattville Baptist Hospital on Wednesday, November 29. He doesn't know the time of his appointment as of yet. He is not financially able to offer payment for the trip. He is a very kind special needs man. If anyone is willing to help, please let Shay know. 335-3013 or 304-2513.

A young single mother is trying to get on her feet. The Salty Souls are working on helping her get set up in a home, but she has two young children who need clothing. The oldest boy wears a size 6, shoe size 2. The infant boy wears a 1. If you know other parents who can help, it would be deeply appreciated. The clothing need not be brand new. They would be grateful for anything.

We are still in need of a building or shed to use as a Crisis Closet. If you know of a place, or have a shed we can use, please let Shay know.

Thank you so much for ALL you do.

There are many books written about and by various religions. But the Bible is the only one which includes the actual words of God. Those who believe the Bible also believe that God inspired various people through the years to write down His actual words for mankind. The Bible says more than 3,000 times “thus saith the Lord.” And the words which follow are quotes from God.

Jesus said, “I don’t call you servants any longer, because servants don’t know what their master
is doing. Instead, I call you friends, because
everything I heard from my Father I
have made known to you.” - John 15:15 (CEB)

While on an extended vacation, I made a point to visit an old Navy buddy I hadn’t seen in years. I was surprised to find that we connected just like we had many years ago. Sharing our experiences was a joy. Beginning a relationship with Jesus is something like that....

Lord Jesus, you came from heaven to be with us. Turn our hearts toward you so that we may know you and be filled with the joy of your presence. Amen.
